Nexsen Pruet attorneys Eric Mills and Christy Myatt have been named to North Carolina Lawyers Weekly's list of 2016 “Leaders in the Law.”
Mills is registered patent attorney and licensed professional engineer in Raleigh and Myatt is a bankruptcy law specialist in Greensboro. Excerpts from the profiles published by NCLW in its September 19th edition.
Mills: “My engineering background created a good path into intellectual property law.... I understand that intellectual property can often guide the direction of a company, particularly in today’s economy, and I thoroughly enjoy working with businesses to develop IP strategies that complement their business needs and goals.”
Myatt: “Our job is to identify, sometimes with the help of outside consultants, the issues faced by the company and then to see if a viable solution can be found. Bankruptcy attorneys are generally very collegial and try to work together to craft a solution which is the best interest of the company, its employees and its creditors....”

Christy Myatt is Chair of Nexsen Pruet’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group. In 2015, she Received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the North Carolina Bar Association Bankruptcy Section in 2015.
Eric Mills devotes a significant portion of his practice to preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as in foreign jurisdictions.
